Iran actress to become ‘legend’

Famed Iran screen actress Roya Nonahali is set to direct ‘I’ll Become a Legend’ theater play in the near future.

The play will be staged at Iranshahr Theater in Iranian capital city of Tehran some time in September, a Thursday report by local media said, adding this is the sophomore theater work by the actress.

Nonahali made her directorial debut in theater with ‘Tartuffe.’

Nonahali is a graduate of Painting from The University of Tehran, Faculty of Fine Arts.

She made her stage debut in 1983 and first appeared on the small screen in 2002 with the series ‘Asleep and Awake’.

Nonahali has performed in the series ‘Hourglass’ (2007), ‘Building No. 85’ (2010) and ‘Light and Shadow’ (2011).

 She has also acted in the movies ‘Friend’s in the House’ (1987), ‘The Marriage of the Blessed’ (1988), ‘Iron Bird’ (1991), ‘The Fifth Chapter’ (1996), ‘Smell of Camphor, Scent of Jasmine’ (1999), ‘Women’s Prison’ (2000), ‘House on Water’ (2001), ‘A Piece of Bread’ (2004), ‘Fish Fall in Love’ (2004), ‘Tragedy’ (2013) and ‘My Heart Desires’ (2014).
